Petrol Pump Owners Suspend Strike After Minister Promises Margin Review and Two-Week Daily Pricing Trial
The All Pakistan Petrol Pumps Owners Association has suspended a planned nationwide shutdown after Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik promised to review dealer profit margins — unchanged since 2022 — and agreed to run the daily petroleum pricing mechanism as a two-week pilot before any permanent decision. Dealers had objected to the daily system that now revises fuel prices every 24 hours; the dispute is paused but unresolved.
