KSE-100 Sheds 400 Points as Iran Mediation Optimism Fades; OMC and Cement Stocks Lead Selling
The KSE-100 index shed approximately 400 points in early trading on July 22, reversing a portion of the prior session's 2,442-point rally, as selling pressure emerged in oil marketing companies, automobile assemblers, cement, fertiliser and power generation sectors. The index touched 175,713.69 — down 419.87 points or 0.24% — as market participants reassessed the durability of US-Iran mediation developments that had driven Tuesday's surge. Stocks partially recovered by the close but remained lower on the session.
