KSE-100 Sheds Over 1,300 Points on July 24 as Rising Oil and Middle East Tensions Reverse Session Gains

Pakistan's KSE-100 index shed over 1,300 points on Thursday in a session that opened positively before sustained selling pressure — driven by geopolitical tension and rising global crude — pulled the benchmark well into negative territory. The index touched an intraday high of 175,237 before sliding to a low of 171,655, as energy and industrial stocks led broad-based declines.

KSE-100 Recovers 600 Points on July 23 as Buying Returns After Two-Day Sell-Off

The KSE-100 index recovered approximately 600 points on July 23 as buying interest returned to the Pakistan Stock Exchange following a two-session sell-off that had dragged the benchmark from its July 21 intraday high of 178,370 to a July 22 close of 174,429.92. The recovery was broad-based, with institutional buyers returning to selective positions in oil marketing companies, cements and banks. The index had shed nearly 4,000 points over July 21–22 as geopolitical pessimism and fuel price hikes weighed on sentiment.
