Protesters block roads in multiple cities after TLP chief Saad Rizvi arrested in Lahore

LAHORE: Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Saad Hussain Rizvi, on Monday has been arrested by the Punjab police Elite Force in Lahore. Rizvi was taken into custody after leading a funeral prayer and was currently being kept at the Gulshan-i-Ravi police station. TLP spokesperson Pir Ejaz Ashrafi also confirmed that Rizvi had been taken into custody as a “pre-emptive measure”. Fire breaks out in Lahore’s Hafeez Center

LAHORE: Iconic retail building Hafeez Center located in the city’s Gulberg Main Boulevard area was engulfed in flames on Sunday morning due to an electrical short circuit. According to details from rescue officials, the fire broke out in a shop on the second floor of the plaza — Hafeez Centre, where laptops, mobile phones and other electronic items are sold — and spread to the fourth floor.
