Reports that Saudi voted against Pakistan in FATF rejected by Foreign Office

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Foreign Office has categorically rejected the “false and baseless” media reports claiming Saudi Arabia voted against Pakistan in the ongoing plenary of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). “Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy strong fraternal ties and the two countries have always cooperated with each other on all matters of bilateral, regional and international importance,” said the spokesperson. The FO spokesperson called the report as “malicious propaganda” and clarified that Pakistan greatly values its relations with Saudi Arabia. “FATF will announce its assessment of Pakistan’s progress on the Action Plan and the future course of action after conclusion

Pak Army will not fight Armenia: FO confirms

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office dismissed “irresponsible” reports alleging that the Pakistan military is fighting alongside Azerbaijani forces against Armenia in the ongoing Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said the reports were “speculative and baseless”. “Pakistan is deeply concerned over the deteriorating security situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh region,” Chaudhri said while reiterating Pakistan’s position on the conflict. The spokesperson also said that intensive shelling by Armenian forces on the civilian populations of Azerbaijan is reprehensible and most unfortunate. “This could compromise peace and security of the entire region. Armenia must stop its military action to avoid further escalation,”
