Pakistan Adds Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore Airports to Privatisation Plan; First Phase to Complete Within a Year

The federal government has added Pakistan's three largest international airports — Jinnah International in Karachi, Islamabad International, and Allama Iqbal International in Lahore — to its revised five-year privatisation programme, placing them in the first phase for completion within one year. The move represents a shift from G2G to open competitive bidding after "high levels of interest" from investors. The airports join a revised plan covering 25 state-owned enterprises.
