Crowds fill Al-Suwaidi Park as celebrations conclude with music, crafts and a packed audience

The Pakistan Culture Days celebrations in Riyadh attracted thousands of visitors over three days, offering a comprehensive showcase of music, heritage, food and performing arts as Saudi Arabia’s ‘Global Harmony 2’ initiative continued.
Highlighting resident communities and promoting cultural exchange within the broader goals of Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Media organized the Pakistan Culture Days in collaboration with the General Entertainment Authority, hosting the events in one of Riyadh’s busiest zones of the season.
Crowds began to gather from the opening day, when folk groups showcased Pakistan’s cultural diversity through local dances, heritage displays and a student-led presentation from a Pakistani school in the Kingdom.
The activities were part of the Quality of Life Program, which seeks to promote Saudi Arabia’s culture, entertainment, sports and tourism sectors. The ministry said these events confirm Riyadh’s commitment to celebrating the traditions of the communities living in the country.
The venue, Al-Suwaidi Park, featured a wide variety of stalls with traditional clothing, handicrafts and culinary offerings representing Pakistan’s rich heritage. Visitors sampled dishes from various provinces, while artisans demonstrated craft techniques passed down from generation to generation in Pakistani communities in South Asia and abroad.
Throughout the event, the audience experienced cultural expressions from Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Sindh. Performers in local costumes delivered energetic folk routines that attracted significant engagement as families and visitors of multiple nationalities joined together to celebrate shared musical and artistic traditions.
The second day attracted a particularly large turnout, with thousands attending musical performances, dance performances and regional demonstrations. Organizers emphasized that the program highlighted the cultural vibrancy of Pakistan and the strong ties between the Pakistani community and Saudi Arabia, home to one of the largest overseas Pakistani populations.
As the program progressed, the main stage became a central attraction where Pakistani artists delivered musical and cultural performances that reflected the country’s long-standing artistic traditions. Traditional rhythms, singers and musical pieces kept the audience engaged, with many spectators staying at the venue late into the night.
The Ministry of Media noted that the initiative strengthens engagement with resident communities, creating opportunities for cultural appreciation while enhancing the Kingdom’s role as a meeting point for global cultures. He added that the events were designed to deepen social cohesion and promote understanding between different nationalities living in Saudi cities.
The final Monday afternoon maintained the same level of excitement seen in the previous days. The final program included performances by leading Pakistani singers, who delivered a mix of musical and theatrical acts on various platforms in the venue. Traditional shows, dance segments and extensive craft demonstrations contributed to a lively atmosphere.
Crowds moved between heritage displays and interactive activities, reflecting the organizers’ intention to create an accessible environment for families and people of all ages. Many visitors returned for several days of the event, taking advantage of the varied program spanning cultural, entertainment and artistic themes.
Ministry officials emphasized that the Pakistan Culture Days are directly aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030, particularly the emphasis on enriching entertainment options, promoting cultural diversity and enhancing public participation through high-quality events. They added that the strong turnout highlighted the growing interest in cross-cultural experiences among residents and visitors.
With the celebrations in Pakistan over, preparations were already underway for the next installment of Global Harmony 2, focusing on Indonesia. The Indonesian Culture events kicked off on Tuesday, with a comprehensive series of concerts, performances and demonstrations designed to introduce Riyadh audiences to one of Asia’s most diverse cultures.
Organizers said the Indonesian program will include concerts by top singers and influencers, with around 70 artists performing traditional arts and folklore. These acts are expected to showcase Indonesia’s local diversity, covering musical genres, dances, rituals and storytelling traditions enriched by centuries of heritage.
Visitors will also have access to craft stations and food stalls offering Indonesian dishes, allowing attendees to experience the culinary diversity of the world’s largest archipelago. Special areas for children, along with interactive activities, ensure that the event remains accessible to audiences of many age groups.
The Ministry of Media noted that Indonesia’s activities will continue the Global Harmony initiative’s broader goal of celebrating resident communities and fostering cultural understanding. Organizers said each section is designed to highlight both authenticity and creativity, allowing visitors to learn about global traditions within a family-friendly environment.
Global Harmony was first launched last year, with the second edition aiming to showcase 14 cultures represented by expat communities across the Kingdom. Apart from Pakistan and Indonesia, the upcoming divisions will highlight the Philippines from December 5-8, Uganda from December 9-10, Ethiopia from December 11-13 and Sudan from December 14-20.
The structure of the initiative, which includes daily performances and cultural activities, seeks to demonstrate the depth of integration and harmony between resident communities and Saudi society.
Officials said that by celebrating different nationalities, the program enhances cultural diversity while supporting the Kingdom’s ambition to establish itself as a hub of creativity and global cultural engagement.
As the Pakistan Culture Days concluded with strong public participation, the organizers expressed confidence that the events in Indonesia and subsequent cultural programs will continue to attract large audiences.
They stressed that the initiative symbolizes Saudi Arabia’s vision to promote cross-cultural connection, promote shared understanding and create spaces where global traditions can be openly celebrated.
