‘Social Media Does Not Give Second Chances’: Samia Hijab Says She Is Changing Her Lifestyle

Pakistani social media influencer Samia Hijab has said she has stopped wearing short and revealing clothing for the sake of Allah’s approval, while acknowledging concerns that social media users may still criticise her decision.

Samia Hijab came into public attention after claiming that she had faced an alleged abduction attempt. The matter was later settled out of court. Following the incident, she travelled abroad and continued sharing photos and videos on social media, where users expressed differing views about her clothing and lifestyle.

Some social media users also claimed that Samia Hijab had used the alleged abduction incident to gain sympathy and fame. However, those claims have not been independently verified.

In a recent Instagram statement, Samia Hijab said she wanted to bring positive changes into her life and felt it was necessary to change herself for the approval of Allah. She said that, with this intention, she had stopped wearing short and revealing outfits and was also trying to observe hijab.

She said that while she sincerely wanted to make this change, she also feared trolling and criticism on social media. According to her, people often judge others based on their past and do not easily accept personal transformation.

Samia Hijab added that, in her view, social media is often unwilling to give a person a second chance, while Allah always keeps the door of repentance, reform and new beginnings open for His servants.

She said this belief was giving her the courage to move toward positive change in her life.

The claims regarding the alleged abduction attempt and related social media reactions have not been independently verified.

This is a developing story.
