Karachi:

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued the Rally’s record on Tuesday, with the KSE-100 reference index rising 985 points to close at a high level of 143,037.

The increase was fueled by powerful local and foreign inflows, broad profit in key areas and positive tax data. Pakistan’s fiscal balance has improved sharply for FY25, recording a 5.38%deficit, the lowest in nine years. It enhanced investor confidence and increased optimism for the rest of the week.

In its revision, Topline Securities noted that the Bulls continued to charge ahead as the KSE-100 index hit another high record, based on the momentum of the previous day. The index increased to the top of 1,229 points, before it was installed to 143,037, increased by 985 points (+0.69%).

Investor confidence has remained rich, fueled by strong local and foreign inflows and wide sectoral struggles. The feeling was further enhanced as Pakistan reported nine years of low fiscal deficit 5.38% for FY25. It came with a 36% increase in revenue annually, which overcame costs by 18%, gaining both the provisions of the government and the 5.6% of the IMF reported.

The upward trajectory of the market reflects optimism about fiscal discipline, macroeconomic stability and strong profits, defining the scene for prolonged momentum in the front sessions.

The main positive contributors included Fauji Fertilizer, UBL, MCB Bank, Hub Power and Engro Fertilizers, which were added collectively 679 points to the index. At the bottom, Pakistan Oil, Al Habib Bank and HBL shaved 142 points, added the Brokerage House.
