The Pakistan’s Stock Exchange (PSX) recorded a historic rally on Tuesday, with the KSE-100 index jumping 7,032.60 points or 4.44%, marking the second highest one-day profit in its history. The index closed on 165,476.02, covering a session dominated by aggressive market and a sharp reversal of emotion.
This dramatic increase follows a day of heavy sale, stressing how quickly the investor feeling has shifted. Investors’ confidence also went up to the back of the relaxation of geopolitical tensions, a calmer political environment and a basic development on the financial front after news that Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb met with Jihad Azour, Director of the International Monetary Fund (Middle East) IMF and the World Bank in Washington, DC.
The meeting confirmed the mutual commitment to Pakistan’s reform and macroeconomic stability, enhancing investor confidence in continuous external support and consistent political direction.

Specifically, three of the top one-day profits in the KSE-100 have occurred within the last six months, marking the maintenance of investor optimism and improving its market dynamics.
The recovery was broad, with strong market interest in large sectors, such as oil and gas exploration, oil marketing companies (OMCS), electricity production and distribution, refineries, commercial banks, cement and car assembly. These areas, especially those with a high index weight, played a vital role in lifting the market, reflecting a consolidated trend.
Market analysts attribute this momentum to the hopes of political stability and the ongoing government’s adhesion to the International Monetary Fund program (IMF), which is considered critical to restoring macroeconomic stability.
By closing the index in high intravenous 165,866.78, short -term prospects remain inflated, although viability will depend on the upcoming political and economic developments.
