PSX hits high at 154,277 points amid economic optimism

Karachi:

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) increased high on Friday, with the KSE-100 index closing to 154,277, increased to 1,612 points in a single session. This marks the first time the index exceeded 154,000.

The race was pioneering by the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), which increased by 9.88% to RS171.98 after repetitions of his expectations for a healthy dividend at the end of the year. The administration implied the optimization of capital levels, although the NBP law restricts payments to results at the end of the year, said Ali Najib, deputy head of the Arif Habib Ltd.

Cement reserves also light the board, with the DG Khan cement hitting the upper circuit at +10%, while power, GWLC, MLCF and luck proceeded between 3%-7.5%, cement at the level of reinforcement of the sector.

The liquidity remained extremely strong, as 1.07 billion shares worth about 60 billion shares. The BOP Bank (BOP) dominated the volumes with 146 million shares negotiating, underlining the increased appetite for risk as investors were hunting for record territories.

After a short pause last week, the PSX reinstated its burden, gaining 3.81% a week (+5,659 points). The index opened at 149,079, turned between 148,500 and a record of 154,511, before closing the week at 154,277.

Analysts show the renewed confidence of investors, driven by hopes of economic recovery, a diminished trade deficit and a possible package of farmers. The level of 150,000 points now functions as strong support, with a dynamic indicating that the race could continue.
