Portrait of Oasis Brothers to be released in London

Portrait of Oasis Brothers to be released in London

A portrait of the 1996 Liam and Noel Gallagher brothers in the height of Oasis’s reputation is heading for the auction next week as the brothers prepare to start a series of reunion concerts, Reuters said.

Pailed by our artist Elizabeth Peyton, Liam + Noel (Gallagher) is based on an advertising photo of the brothers who received last year and depicts them “in a moment of intimacy and rest”, according to Sotheby’s.

Like the photo, the painting, which took place after the historical concerts of Oasis in 1996, depicts Liam resting on his chin on the shoulder of Noel. In the photo, Liam has his thumbs, but not in painting.

The project is offered at Sotheby’s “Contemporary and Contemporary Evening Auction” auction in London on June 24 with a price of $ 1.5 million to £ 2m ($ 2 million – $ 2.69 million).

“It’s a beautiful circular time for painting … This was done in 1996, on the eve of their biggest concert in Knebworth,” Antonia Gardner, head of modern night out, told Reuters. “And now this is returning to the market, returning to the forefront … on the eve of their incredible … tour.”

Oasis made their debut in 1994, perhaps before he found the international Stardom with their second studio album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? It was released in 1995, continued to sell 22 million copies worldwide and was the discovery of the band in the United States.

In addition to Liam + Noel (Gallagher), other paintings offered during the sale of next week include La Belle Rafaela of Tara De Lempicka and Nu Assis Dans Un Fauteuil of Pablo Picasso, with estimates of 6 million – 9 million pounds.

Gallaghers’ flying relationship often made headlines. The group was separated in 2009, when the lead guitarist and chief singer Noel said he could no longer work with brother and frontman Liam after a series of public spats.

However, last August, the brothers announced that they would reunite for a series of concerts in the summer of 2025, ending years of speculation.

The announcement marked a frenzy of fans who rushed to book online tickets, thus crushing tickets, unable to deal with demand increased. The news of the reunion tour also led to the cases of UK fans who claim to have been deceived by cash in exchange for GIG tickets.

According to details listed on the Ticketmaster website, the tour will see Oasis playing on Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin from July to September. Concerts are about to start at Cardiff on July 4.
