Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the Ministry of Interior to ensure effective and foolproof security of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The Prime Minister issued the directives today after receiving information regarding the security threat to the former Prime Minister.
Shehbaz Sharif directed Minister for Interior Rana Sanauallah Khan to personally monitor the security arrangements.
In line with the directives of the Prime Minister, the Interior Minister has sent emergency letters to Home Secretaries of all four provinces, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Chief Commissioner and Inspector General of Islamabad Police to ensure strict security of Imran Khan.
The Interior Ministry has directed officials concerned to ensure measures including the deactivation of a bomb at Imran Khan’s Bani Gala residence.
It has also warned the officials that any security related negligence during Imran Khan’s rallies and public gatherings will not be tolerated.
