KARACHI: A suggestion to slightly decrease the price of petroleum products was made on Wednesday.
According to the sources, a proposal has been developed to reduce the price of petrol by 4.30 rupees and high-speed diesel by 20 rupees for the upcoming fortnightly.
A plan to lower the price of light-speed diesel and kerosene by Rs. 10 and Rs. 13 per litre, respectively, are also in the works. It further added that a petroleum levy of Rs 50 per liter on petrol and Rs 45 on diesel is being charged and that a recommendation to lower the price of jet fuel by Rs 13 per litre has also been prepared.
According to the sources, the drop in petroleum product rates is anticipated following a drop in the cost of petroleum products on the global market as London Brent oil dropped in price by 6.57% in a single month.
