The first day of the event highlighted creamy neutrals, flowing cuts and experimental menswear
THE 23rd HUM Bridal Couture WeekPakistan’s biggest bridal fashion showcase, kicked off in Lahore on Friday, marking the first day of the three-day event. Produced by HUM TV Networkthe platform brings together established and up-and-coming designers who showcase top bridal collections and set the tone for the upcoming wedding season.
The first day showcased collections by designers including HENAE, Sameer Sain, NIZKA by Nida Rehan and Fahad Hussayn. Other fashion houses showcased during the event include Asifa Nabeel and Fais Couture, reflecting a blend of classic bridal craftsmanship and modern design approaches.
Several famous faces also appeared as showstoppers on the first day. Ali Raza and Kinza Hashmi walked for NIZKA by Nida Rehan, while influencer Jannat Mirza walked for HSY.
Sabeena Farooq also walked the ramp, with actor Ahmed Ali Akbar appearing for Almirah.
Fatima Amjed performed the song Ranjha Ranjha Kardi and walked the ramp for Zeeshan Danish.
Beyond the presence of celebrities, the catwalk offered a clear picture of the bridal trends emerging this year. The collections were dominated by a strong preference for classic maroon, ivory and cream hues, with designers opting for softer palettes that allowed the embroidery and textiles to stand out. Instead of dramatic color contrasts, the focus remained on detail and texture.
The silhouettes on the screen leaned towards longer, more flowing forms. Angharka-style pishwas and extended cuts appeared repeatedly, indicating a move away from closer or heavily structured designs. These elongated silhouettes emphasized elegance and movement, indicating a renewed interest in traditional bridal shapes reinterpreted for contemporary tastes.
Menswear, meanwhile, took a more experimental direction. Designers presented fusion looks that combined traditional sherwanis with western tailoring, incorporating elements such as suits, waistcoats and structured jackets. Browns, blacks and soft neutrals dominated the menswear palette, offering grooms more versatile and modern style options.
Later, Jannat Mirza took to Instagram to share her experience, saying that the heavily embellished outfit made walking the ramp physically difficult. He also cited last-minute changes and other unknown issues that added to the difficulty, but added that he still enjoyed the overall experience.
