  • Pakistan arrives on 33/0 in the chase before the rain stops.
  • Sana is shining with four wickers in a reduced contest.
  • Pakistan to face NZ Next? England meets India on Sunday.

Pakistan’s hopes of moving on to the ICC World Cup were dissolved as the rainfall against England was abandoned, ending their campaign despite the intellectual bowling effort at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday.

Green shirts, chasing a revised target of 113 out of 31 Overs, were comfortably placed on 33/0 in six overs when the rain intervened. It became stable with time and eventually led to the abandonment of the person to win for Pakistan.

Since no reserves are available for the league lighting, the two teams shared one point per piece. Consequently, Pakistan remained at the bottom of the ranking with only one point in four games, while England managed to hold in the first place with seven points in so many games.

The abandonment of the race drew curtains with Pakistan’s hopes of qualifying for the semifinals, as they can now achieve seven points, winning all three.

Despite being out of the semifinals, Pakistan then faces another former champion, New Zealand, in the same area on Saturday, while the next English race is scheduled against co-icons in India on Sunday.

Put the bat first, the former champions managed to accumulate 133/9 at the reduced 31 overs.

Bowling All-Rounder Charlie Dean remained the top scorer for England with a careful 33 of 51 deliveries, with three bounds.

Pakistan’s Captain Fatima Sana led Bowling Charge for Pakistan with four wickets for just 27 runs on her six Overs. It was supported by Sadia Iqbal, who threw two, while Diana Baig and Rameen Shamim made a piece of head.
