Slough, England:
Let’s first get the most important thing from the road. There is no such thing like stress -free hospitality. Of any kind, whether it is Eid or a birthday or brunch or what you have. The most obvious way to conquer hosting without stress is to review it at all. The other is to have all your food to be fed. The expense of all Eid mornings dressed with your best and sweating over a stove, accumulating sweatpots and fat stains along the road, is probably not the appearance of your pine.
But chances are that you are able to get this invitation back to an open home, nor pass the buck to last -minute caterers or a business household working outside his own cuisine. Maybe you have a tender ego who can’t afford to let your glory be replaced by impersonal chefs. You may live in a large family who considers the very concept of supply being more outrageous than a bride. Or maybe those miserable restaurants don’t just get the phone.
Whatever the reason you are in this laborious position, there is no need to collapse into a tear tank – at least not for a long time. Crying, we admit, is an acceptable answer to making 300 kachoris for a free -flowing river of visitors who will not stop coming. However, we cannot allocate all day of Eid to shout. It has to be a job.
Plan your meal
The enticing though it may seem, there are no answers to be collected by looking at your fridge or cupboards to dream of what your menu may be. Neither will this menu reveal itself as you move through the Instagram wheels of recipes that look as easy to make a bowl of corn on your phone screen, but in practice it turns out to be as difficult as it turns the pencil into gold. Ergo, now is not the time to navigate unknown territory. Stick to what you know, something you can do with your mind away, away from the kitchen without jeopardizing your food.

The day before, write your menu and glue it to your refrigerator with a magnet. Do as much as you can night before, such as installing your ingredients and equipment (cutting, knife, etc.) on the bench and measuring the quantity of rice you need. You will not have time to enter with a unhappy colleague of adult and send them sprints to buy more tomatoes in the middle of the Karahi cooking chicken on the day. Make sure you have everything you need one day ahead of time, such as water bottles, cold drinks and tissues – and, of course, tomatoes.
Work smartly, not hard
Even if you haven’t come to dinner, start nice and early in the morning. Today is not the day to regain any beauty sleeping you have sacrificed last month. Go on battle in the kitchen as the sun comes and face this directory. Cross everything as you go together. List makers will already know that the act of crossing itself is a strange satisfactory exercise.

A word in these aforementioned cane. This is an extremely bad idea to go out before visitors if you have made the brave decision to host a brunch open house. Not only Kachoris includes a lot standing in front of inflatable oil and risk pushing the beautiful shirt (and Farshi Shalwar) that you struggled with the endless handle of your tail to get a little more.
Stick to lunch or dinner. Brunch is probably the worst meal you can choose to host, but if this is the path you have taken, find something you can prepare in advance. Naans stuffed is a wicked choice, because you can spend the day before the filling and roll them and you only have to throw them at Tawa before the visitors arrive.
Plan on other things
The front planning is not only downgraded to your meal, because of course, Eid day is much more than throwing food on the table. This table, for a principle, must be made available accordingly. On the night before, think very hard and hard about the dishes you need and decide which element will go to which it serves a plate. Write it if needed. Remove the corresponding cutlery, because some of us found ourselves not to serve spoons at a basic time and had to run to a good, well -equipped neighbor for help. (Not recommended.) Extract all your fancy plates from the intestines of the fancy closet (or wherever you hide the good things) and place them on the table accordingly. The rest of the family can eat on the couch for one night. Remember to cover everything with a sheet, maybe an adventurous lizard or strange cockroach decides to explore this beautifully decorated table in the middle of the night.

Talking about all things beautiful, your clothes were ironed and closed one or two days earlier, as no one will have the time or head to iron when they also have to cook. Decide in advance which accessories you want, so that you do not root for fruitless bracelets before remembering that your sister escapes with them last week because they went perfectly in her own Eid uniform. They also have all the Eidi filled in named folders the night before. You don’t want to clean the house for a pen that acts as a line of assembly kids before you with palms stretched.
Seek help
Finally, forget to do it yourself. If you enter stupid competitions, you win stupid awards, this is the motto of the Eid Host. Be ruthless to assign tasks. Make a list of what work needs to do and unfold in detail. If you are in the lucky position to have help at home, you probably have already covered this. If not, you may have other flexible adults and children in the area. Depending on how old these kids are, they can grow into blanket cucumbers for a salad, peel potatoes and place the table. If you have babies or toddlers, divine intervention is the only thing that can arrange you. Don’t make the mistake of hosting again for the coming years until your children are big enough to be useful.
