Mia Khalifa supports South Africa’s case against Israel

South Africa has brought a compelling case against Israel at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, accusing the nation of committing genocide against the people of Gaza. The official accusation was accompanied by a call to the United Nations’ highest court to urgently intervene and order an immediate halt to Israeli military operations in Gaza.

This bold move by South Africa prompted notable stars and social media personalities to rally behind the cause, drawing attention to the gravity of the situation and the urgent need for international intervention.

Armeena Khan has taken a strong stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine amid South Africa’s official charge of genocide against Israel at the International Court of Justice. Sharing a haunting image on social media platforms reminding people to bear witness to the genocide, the star emphasized the importance of remembering and acknowledging the plight of Palestine, regardless of the outcome at the International Court of Justice.

“Whatever the outcome at the ICJ. We will tell the story of Palestine. We remember and will never forget the brave people of Palestine. Huge salute to South Africa. You will be remembered in the history books,” he said.

Former adult star-turned-influencer Mia Khalifa, who has become a prominent voice condemning the genocide in Gaza, said in a post on Platform X that she said: “South Africa put in the work. The hard and indisputable evidence they are producing.” In it, he added, “This genocide was live-streamed, TikTok’d, captured and accepted by the highest levels of the occupying power. The issue is not the evidence, the issue is corruption all the way at the level of international law.” .

Actor Osman Khalid Butt has once again shown his commitment to the Palestinian cause. Acknowledging South Africa’s efforts to present its case against Israel at the International Court of Justice, the actor took to social media to applaud the nation for its meticulously researched arguments. “South Africa,” he began, adding the clapping emojis. “What meticulously researched arguments.”

In addition, he quoted a post claiming that the hearing in The Hague is a “display of hypocrisy, anti-Semitism and shame”, sharing an image that sarcastically conflates “literally anything” with “anti-Semitism”. He wrote next to it: “Because it’s impossible to take you seriously.”

In opening statements presented to the International Court of Justice, legal representatives from South Africa argued that ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza are intricately linked to a long history of Israeli oppression against Palestinians spanning several decades.

During the court proceedings, South African lawyer Adila Hassim emphasized that the court had access to a complete 13-week evidence file. This evidence, he argued, unmistakably reveals a consistent pattern of behavior combined with relevant intentions, forming a compelling foundation for what can be considered a “plausible allegation of genocidal acts.”

The remarks were made before a rapt audience in a packed hall at the Peace Palace in The Hague. This central argument underscores South Africa’s pursuit of justice for the reported atrocities and seeks to establish a legal basis for addressing the broader issue of Palestinian oppression.
