Television actress Maria Wasti has revealed that she was hunting for the involvement of content as she touched her absence from screens during a recent appearance in a local speech.
“It’s good to take a break,” actor Ashk observed as a guest on the host of Imran Ashraf’s Mazaaq Raat. “I also have been looking for better scenarios and stories that I really want to do.”
Returning her attention to today’s dramas, the actor expressed his concern about how rehearsals are often omitted. “Now, people did not even pretend,” he mourned. “This is something I strongly oppose. They say,” take one, if it happens, fine, if not, we will repeat it. “But at least rehearsals, do the dry run, the rehearsal of the camera.
For Wasti, great action is never a solo effort and requires preparation before taking. “If you are not ready with your lines, your scenario, your interaction with the other actor, I can’t perform well,” he explained. Touching the importance of a committed co-star, he added: “If the actor against me is not present … then I can’t do my best job.” Great action comes from teamwork.
However, Wasti acknowledged that over time, actors must adapt to the changing culture of industry to survive. “At the moment, I do not call the public ‘consumers’, I call on the actor a consumer,” he explained. “The author, the producer, we are also part of him.
Despite these challenges, Wasti do not blame the social means of the wave of change. “I don’t blame social media or these developments. These are tools,” he said. “They were created for our use. If someone is abusing them, this is their choice.”
However, the actor recognizes the tax that the pressure of social media can take on mental health. “People used your photos – now you take your own photos,” he spoke. “If you let it consume you so much that you end up needing a psychiatrist because you constantly take pictures of yourself and obsessed about how your hair looks.”
Since her discovery in Kallo, Maria Wasti has starred in over 50 television dramas, including Baandi, Baba Jani and Morat. Known for its emotional depth and unobstructed professionalism, she remains one of the most respected actors on Pakistan’s screen.
