Karachi:
Should techniques in the cinema industry, Mahira chose to withstand the small press. Participating in the entertainment Brotherhood Choir talking about late payments, Mahira took the story of Instagram on Thursday and reminded us of the scale of the problem.
Mahira’s comment was a nod to previous callouts by director Mehreen Jabbar, veteran actor Mohammed Ahmed and other industry professionals such as Ahmed Ali Butt, Ramsha Khan, Nadia Afgan, Yasir Hussain and Alic Shah.
Mehreen had erupted the bubble of those who host the impression that a career in the television industry is equivalent to a flourishing bank account in July. “The drama industry has gone a long way and has been a very high viewer,” he said during a virtual interview with Drama Pakistan. “But behind the scenes, there is a lot of compromise and this industry is operating in a very unprofessional way. This is the sad place.”
The manager of Jackson Heights also said that the US may have many problems, but payment schedules are always maintained. However, in Pakistan, with every channel and productive home, entertainers must chase their money like beggars.
Confirming Mahira’s statement, director Dobara Phir SE said this is not an issue that is limited to only actors. “Everyone is facing this, from the actors in the spot boy to the director,” the director said. “There is no system. You ask anyone and you will get thousands of stories about payment issues.”
Mohammed thanked Mehreen for the start of the conversion in July. Taking on Instagram, he said: “Mehreen has spoken very clearly about the drama system and industry and makes me so happy, he just said what I have said quietly for years.”
The cake actress said that a three to four -month delay is extremely normal.
In support of the ratio of Mehreen’s Beggar, Mohammed continued: “You have to hit them with every project, pay you, then distribute control of your street, giving the impression that they are doing a huge grace of you only because they have succeeded in paying you.
Ahmed struck the recurring industry issue with late payments. “Delayed payment is an industrial standard,” he told an Instagram story in July. “Production houses, television channels and corporate sponsors have a 60 to 90 day payment clause, and this has never met in time.”
He added: “There are some rare people who will pay you in time. Otherwise everyone will make sure you need to beg for your money and in installments.” In a lighter note, the actor said, “Work on YouTube. Be your own boss.”
With Mahira joining the choir and reminding us how it can influence people behind the camera, some accountability from production homes are required.
