In a recent interactive session with fans and followers on his Instagram Stories, singer Falak Shabir addressed the issue of the reported lifting of the ban on Pakistani artistes working in India. Contrary to claims of a possible lifting of the ban, Falak opined that, in his experience, the ban notice he received from T-Series during a visit to Mumbai in 2015 remains in place.
He stressed his belief that the ban would not be overturned. His statement sheds light on an ongoing issue that has embroiled the entertainment industry as fans and artists alike anticipate possible changes in the relationship between Pakistani artistes and the Indian entertainment industry.
The Punjabi singer responded to a query that said, “Bombay High Court lifts ban on Pakistani artistes. What would you like to say about this gentleman?” Falak said, “Not possible. I received this notice from T-series when I was in Mumbai in 2015. They will never remove this ban.”
The announcement/press release from FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees), shared by Falak said, “We, the parent body FWICE in a joint meeting with all our affiliates, today took a unanimous decision to ban Pakistani artistes and technicians for working on films/TV series produced by Indian Producers in any language. The above decision was taken because of the war situation unleashed by Pakistan due to which we have lost so many soldiers and common men on the streets of India. We stand by our security forces and their families in this hour of crisis and believe in “Nation comes first”. The ban notice has been sent to all affiliates and producer associations.”

The ban on Pakistani artists in India dates back to a turbulent period in bilateral relations between the two countries. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), in association with its affiliates, took a unanimous decision to impose the ban on Pakistani artistes and technicians.
The ban on Pakistani artistes in India has sparked ongoing debates in the entertainment industry. While some argue that art and culture should transcend political conflicts, others emphasize the importance of prioritizing national interests and security.
In recent years, there have been cases of Pakistani artists working in India, suggesting a potential thaw in strained relations between the two nations. However, Falak’s comments highlight that there may be obstacles to a full return of Pakistani artists to the Indian entertainment scene.
