I told Humayun Saeed to stop calling me ‘Aapa’ because my husband is younger than him: Bushra Ansari

During an interview with a local news channel, Pakistani film and television actress Bushra Ansari humorously revealed that she instructed Humayun Saeed to stop addressing her as “Aapa”. She thought playfully, “I have a younger husband than you,” and so it’s fair to refrain from using the term.

Laughing, Bushra expressed that she doesn’t mind being called ‘Aapa’ as it reflects respect. She said, “Some people take offense at being called Aapa, but I don’t because at one point she was a lady and that was a strange formality. There is only one lady and that is Noor Jahan. Aapa has an affinity for it. When cameramen or directors call you Aapa, it’s out of respect.” The actor then jokingly said, “Try calling Hania Aamir Aapa and see what happens.”

Bushra recently delighted her fans by announcing her marriage to Iqbal Hussain, her longtime partner. The announcement was met with an outpouring of love and blessings from her fans as she began a new chapter in her life. As the host congratulated her on her marriage, the 68-year-old replied: “This is God’s will. No one can plan something like this.” Bushra went on to comment on people’s views on her relationship with her now husband. “Before, people’s opinions were their own, now they have technology and can easily broadcast what they like and don’t like.” He went on to say: “There is still room for men to get married when they are older because their children think they are alone. But for women, there is no such thing. Children expect their mothers to stay in the kitchen, to cook at this age, not to get married.”

Known for her positive attitude on set, Bushra shared how she got the reputation of being one of the most easy-going actresses in the industry. “Whenever I’m working, everyone always asks me how I stay so positive on set. The only one more positive than me is Javaid Sheikh, he always laughs on set, even if we work late,” he revealed. “I avoid doing my makeup on set as well. I do it myself in case I don’t like something, then I won’t have to complain about it. So there are a lot of situations that I walk away from, to avoid any tensions. I truly believe that wherever you go to work, leave your personal problems at home Udaari concluded the actor.
