Islamabad: Authorities warned that domestic fuel prices may increase according to the global market, where oil increased by 16% due to Iran-Israel war, with no intention of reducing oil growth (PDL).

Reuters They reported that global oil prices were ranging on Monday after a 7% increase on Friday, as refreshed strikes from Israel and Iran over the weekend triggered fears of a wider regional conflict that could disturb the exports.

Brent Futures were 6 cents, or 0.08%, at $ 74.29 a barrel, while West Texas’ intermediate future in West Texas won 21 cents or 0.29%to $ 73.19. They had over $ 4 a barrel earlier in the session and also fell on negative territory for a while.

At a meeting of the Standing Committee on Finance of the National Assembly, chaired by Naveed Qamaron on Monday, Imdadullah Bosal funding secretary said Pakistan had enough oil stocks for now, but stressed that if global prices continue to go up, local prices would have to adjust.

“We keep a careful clock,” he said. “But if the rates go up internationally, we should also increase our own, and the contribution remains in place.”

Omar Ayub opposition leader has also raised the deterioration of the prospects, saying that Pakistan has already been arrested in a domestic debt trap and the conflict is likely to swell both the budget deficit and the trade gap.

At a rare moment of unity, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has agreed with the opposition evaluation and confirmed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif created a high -level committee to monitor prices and oil stocks.

“The committee has already met today (Monday),” he said.

Ayub further, calling the regional crisis a point of overthrow. “The situation is getting worse, people are heading for a wider war and everything could be scanned,” he warned.

The Middle East was sank in a dangerous new chapter of the war after an unprecedented escalation of hostilities between Israel and Iran on Friday.

An unauthorized Israeli strike on Iran’s leading military and nuclear figures in the dark of the night quickly escalated in a complete conflict, with heavy exchanges on both sides and regional stability at risk.

Earlier on the day, the finance minister chaired the opening meeting of a high -level committee formed to monitor oil prices amid regional tension, which carried out a detailed evaluation of the state of the global and domestic oil market.

Responding to the evolving geopolitical situation after Israel’s recent attack on Iran and the resulting volatility in international oil markets, the prime minister was a high -level committee to monitor the pricing and dynamics of oil products.

The Commission is chaired by the financial Tsar and includes senior representatives from basic federal ministries, regulators and experts in the energy sector.

The Commission has welcomed that Pakistan is currently holding sufficient reserves of oil products and there is no immediate risk of interruption of supply. However, the members emphasized the need for constant vigilance, given the rapidly changing regional platform.

In order to ensure timely response and effective coordination, a working group will monitor developments daily and the full committee will meet weekly to review the situation and make recommendations to the prime minister.

The Oil Directorate is designated for the provision of secretarial support and the effective implementation of the Commission’s mandate.

The government remains fully committed to maintaining energy security, stabilizing markets and protecting the national interest during this critical period, according to the statement.

The Commission has been commissioned to carefully monitor the prices of future/ future oil products of oil products and the predictability of the supply chain, given the current conflict in the area, in addition to identifying the transactions of the volatility of short -term prices.
