From ‘Demure’ surprises to the Cucumber craze

2024 Trends Redefine Viral Culture: From 'Demure' Surprises to Cucumber Craze
2024 Trends Redefine Viral Culture: From ‘Demure’ Surprises to Cucumber Craze

Another year passed with tons of social media trends that kept the netizens entertained in a fun and humorous way.

Viral trends have also given previously unpopular creators and marketers a way to get noticed in the eyes of their audience.

Very humble, very considerate

This trend was first started by Jools Lebron, who is the creator of TikTok, in which a person behaves like “reserved, modest and shy”, but with an amazing surprise.

Creators used this trend to do some over-the-top or bold things and superimpose the text over their reels, “Very humble, very careful.”

In addition, Dictionary.com named it the “declined” word of the year, as the impact of the trend was immeasurable.

Recipe for cucumber

A food influencer named Logan Moffitt went viral on social media in 2024 by sharing his cucumber recipes on his TikTok account @logagm and due to his popularity he is also called the cucumber guy. One of Moffitt’s videos nearly reached more than 43 million views, luring many people to try creamy cucumber salad.

Many netizens tried his special cucumber recipe and it went viral to the extent that the cucumber is reportedly in grocery stores due to the TikTok trend.

That and Yap

This and the Yap trend revolved around appreciating the little things, like the sunset, the beach, or any aesthetic view, and enjoying them. It is the combination of two more random activities from everyday life that we often take for granted.

Content creators made reels of footage of cozy cafes or outdoor seating, or a group of friends with two or more people “hanging out” and living in the moment.

Running from the Police

In this funny trend, the main character pretends to run from the police and while on the run, the person hears the police giving an admiring compliment about the person on a radio.

The creators set the trending video for “Running From the Police” to the song “Died in Your Arms” by Cutting Crew, which heightens the icy turn and Aha moment.

In conclusion, these trends have given creators and marketers valuable content and a fun way to interact with their audience and paved the way for endless ideas in the years to come.
