Australian sports presenter Erin Holland is back in Pakistan to cover the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League tournament. Wandering around the city of Multan, Holland took the opportunity to pay a special visit to the historic tomb of Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam.
Taking to her Instagram handle, Holland shared snapshots of her visit to the holy temple, showing the architectural wonder and cultural significance of the site. In a stunning photograph, he captured the intricacies of the historic domed ceiling from the inside, highlighting the timeless beauty of the structure.
Dressed in a tasteful plum set, paired with a complementary floral dupatta, Holland presented an elegant sight as she paid her respects at the shrine. A candid image depicted her laying down a traditional baggar in the sacred space, a common gesture symbolizing reverence.
In the caption accompanying the post, Holland said: “When you google ‘what to see in Multan’, Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam’s tomb is the first thing that comes up… and boy, it did not disappoint.”
In a conversation with The Express Tribune in 2022, the sports anchor reflected on paving the way for women around the world to have unlimited prospects. “He needs time, I think,” he opened. “But I’m not just limiting this comment to women trying to make it in sports. This, I think, applies to every profession. It’s important to realize that it takes time.”
She continued, “In my country, women have been able to come into their own and it is so refreshing to see Pakistan giving more opportunities to women in sports. The PSL is making room for women in cricket and that is something we should applaud.”
She expressed hopes that one day, a young girl would see her or Abbas or Urooj Mumtaz Khan or Sana Mir and be inspired. “I hope these young women look at us and see themselves in us. We are all one people and we are all here to play this sport that we love so much.”
