Dutch and Australian companies forge partnership

LAHORE:

Dutch Ambassador to Pakistan Henny Fokel de Vries emphasized that establishing partnerships between Dutch and Pakistani companies will strengthen the local livestock sector on modern lines.

“More than 50 Dutch companies are already active in Pakistan, which include dairy and agriculture-related companies, and both countries have been actively engaged in what we call historic cooperation in these two important sectors of the economy,” the ambassador noted at an event . on Tuesday.

The event marked the establishment of a partnership between Cloud Agri Pakistan, Australian livestock company Nasna and Denkavit Nederland to provide feed solutions for young animals.

Industry experts pointed out that despite being the fourth largest producer of milk in the world and having large sub-sectors of agriculture, along with livestock, which contribute over 60% of value added agriculture and 11.7% of GDP, the Pakistan’s dairy sector faces persistent challenges that hinder its optimal potential.

With a population of 240 million looking to meet their protein and dairy needs, Pakistan’s dairy and beef industries are largely underperforming, requiring huge efforts for improvements.

Cloud Agri Pakistan CEO and Cloud Agri Group Head of Global Operations Rana Shaukat Hussain said by joining forces with Nasna and Denkavit, “we are not only facilitating the introduction of superior livestock and nutrition solutions, but also fostering a platform for knowledge sharing and adoption of international best practices for dairy and beef producers of Pakistan.

The partnership is poised to bring unprecedented benefits to the dairy and beef sectors. Nasna will serve as the exclusive provider of high-quality Australian dairy and beef cattle, while Denkavit will provide modern calf rearing solutions to meet the diverse needs of Pakistani farmers. This strategic alignment is set to empower local farmers and stakeholders with the tools and knowledge needed to improve production, improve animal health and drive overall industry progress.
