British band Massive Attack starts Alliance for Pro Palestine Music Community Community

Karachi:

The English Trip Hop Band, Massive Attack, has launched an alliance for musicians facing bullying and threats by the industry to support Palestine. The band went to Instagram and said they were hoping to protect artists from organized censorship that silently the voices talking against genocide.

Earlier this year, Irish Hip Hop Trio, Mo Chara of Kneecap, was accused of a terrorist offense following the appearance of Hezbollah’s flag on the stage in London. Were removed from the Trnsmt Scottish Festival (pronounced “broadcast”) due to security concerns and their whole in Glastonbury was blocked by BBC ‘S Live Broadcast.

Imagine that Frontman Dragons Dan Reynolds also set a Palestinian flag during their concert in Milan on May 25, joining the international choir against the mass genocide.

Similarly, after Bob Vylan shouted, “death, death in Israel’s defense forces” during their Glastonbury performance, they fell from their booking service and were removed from various concerts.

Vylan turned to the dispute at a concert saying: “We just want to see the liberation of the Palestinian people, this is what I don’t think it’s very crazy that will not ask us.

Attitude

Participation in these musicians, Massive Attack’s statement further supported the cause. “The scenes in Gaza have gone beyond the description, we are writing as artists who have chosen to use our public platforms to speak against the genocide that happens there and the role of the UK government in facilitating it,” they said.

Reflecting on their experiences, they shared: “We know the scale of aggressive, annoying campaigns operating by United Kingdom lawyers on Israel and multiple cases of bullying within the industry itself, are designed exclusively to silence and silence them.”

UK lawyers for Israel used Lawfare in Britain “to suppress the contrast to Gaza Genocide,” he says World Socilaist Website. “They have brought a number of lawsuits to stifle freedom of speech, whisper public debate and intimidate the activists of Palestinian solidarity.

Taking a piercing to the resistance of these institutions, the band wrote: “Because of our expressions of consciousness, we have undergone various bullying from our work, which are all alive and recorded. Led by donkeys collective.”

They talked further about the sources of this censorship, arguing: “There is a level of censorship in the music industry or from highly organized external legal bodies that scare them and their management groups with aggressive legal action.

Supporting fellow musicians

Expanding their support to fellow artists, they wrote: “Having resisted these censorship attempt campaigns, we will not leave in a state of waiting and allow other artists – especially those in their earlier stages of their career or other professional vulnerability – to threaten.

The band made their efforts intentions clear by saying: “This collective action is really to offer some kind of solidarity to those artists who live day by day in a screen of screen, but are worried about using their platforms to express their horror.”

They sent an incentive message, asking the musicians to gather. “In this spirit, we encourage the artists who have been placed in this position or those who now wish to use their platforms to talk about Palestine, but are worried about industrial or legal implications to communicate with us.”

The band further urged the musical community, “If you felt anxious to talk before, but you feel it is too late, it’s never too late to join this movement.

The band proposed several requirements. “We want to work together to share experiences and real resources,” they said. “To be creative, we want to remain in power and solidarity to require collectively the following.”

Their list included “immediate, unlimited access to Gaza for recognized international aid organizations without military threat, sales and empty on the UK arm in Israel, the end of the fearless targeting of medical and aid”.

Various artists such as Kneecap, Fontaines DC, Brian Eno and garbage have also reflected the need for a non -filtered voice against the atrocities taking place in Palestine. In calling for the end of unjustified pressure, Kneecap wrote: “Final threats and censorship against artists who speak against Genocide in Palestine, speak out, get up, we are the majority.”
