Can entrepreneurial journalism save press in Pakistan?
Journalist Sheema Siddiqui had been thinking of starting her own digital news startup for several years. She finally launched it a month ago after receiving technical training in entrepreneurial journalism from Karachi-based not-for-profit Global Neighbourhood for Media Innovations (GNMI) as part of its Pakistan Entrepreneurial Journalism Program (PEJP). Amid increasing censorship, layoffs, salary cuts, and limited opportunities, many journalists like Siddiqui started their own digital news startups.
