Significance of Domestic Violence laws
Amid rising cases of domestic violence that include torturing and suppressing women living in remote areas, the legislature arrived with a special law to deal with such cases in 2013. The Sindh assembly passed this law in 2013 carrying effect across the province. Despite the promulgation of this law subjects this law mainly women are unaware of its applicability and efficacy. Besides legal practitioners civil society organizations have also been unsuccessful in spreading awareness about this law.
