Singer Asim Azhar and actor Merub Ali officially ended their commitment, the couple confirmed via Instagram on Thursday.
In a sincere joint statement published on Instagram stories, Radd Singer wrote: “We hope this message will find you well. We wanted to take a moment to share something personal, as we believe we owe it to those who supported us-fans and wishers.”
“After a great deal of thought and reflection,” he continued, “Merub and I chose to move on to separate trails peacefully and reciprocal, while sharing important moments and really hoped for a future together, life sometimes takes its own course.”
Asim, who hired actress Sinfe Aahan in 2021, stressed that the separation was friendly. “We have the utmost respect for each other and the families involved and will always,” he wrote, asking the fans and the media for privacy during this period.
The announcement was concluded with a note of gratitude: “Thank you for your continued support”.
The couple had long maintained their relationship to a large extent private, occasionally distributing their bonds to social media. Even before they confirmed the situation of their relationship in 2021, the twin had been fueled for a long time.
Shortly before the dedication announcement, Asim took on X to clarify that he had never described Merub as his “sister”, as he allegedly claimed by some based on a doctored screenshot.
