Days after dazzling fans with his concert in Dubai, Indo-Canadian singer and rapper AP Dhillon graced the majestic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi with a mesmerizing visit. Taking to his Instagram handle, the artist shared photos from his day at the mosque, appreciating the serenity and architectural grandeur of the iconic religious landmark.
Dhillon, known for his dynamic hits like Brown Munde and true storieshe was adorned in a traditional white luba and a keffiyeh on his head as he posed candidly on the expansive white marble floors next to its signature columns.
Adding a short but eloquent caption “Jannat”, which translates to Paradise, Dhillon did not hide his awe at the mosque’s intricate designs, ambience and sheer grandeur. In one photo, the singer was seen walking by the sparkling pools of water, decorated with thousands of mosaic pieces in shades of blue. In another, he captured the artistic ceiling of the mosque.
Named after the founder and first president of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque attracts visitors from around the world for its pristine white marble structure and impressive display of intricate Islamic art and design .
In September last year, Dhillon was at the center of a viral storm after a video of his live performance of With You surfaced on social media. The video captured Dhillon playing without the aid of auto-tune, and the commentary that followed was as tumultuous as it was polarizing.
The video, which quickly went viral on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, features Dhillon singing his latest single, With you, in an event in front of a live audience. Unlike his studio recordings, this performance showcased the artist seemingly without the aid of post-production autotune, revealing the raw vocal talent beneath his studio-honed tracks.
While Dhillon’s attempt to play live without autotune has been seen by some as a commendable display of authenticity, it seems to have backfired as the video’s comments section was flooded with people trolling the musician. “Please stop insulting an artist guys. I can’t like every comment,” one Instagram user said in the comments. “Looks like the trend has gone down,” said another. Another asked, “What’s that, Dillon?” in Punjabi as a play on the singer’s name.
