Abdul Hannan warns contract breakers

In a stark and clear message, musician Abdul Hannan took to his Instagram Story to address a growing concern about breach of performance contracts and lack of professional respect in the industry. The warning was addressed to event organisers, organizers and school principals, warning of the prevailing disregard for contractual agreements and disrespectful treatment of artists.

The Instagram Story began with a clear statement, “This is a note to event organizers, supporters, school administrators, and anyone looking to book us for an event.” Abdul Hannan highlighted a worrying trend where performance contracts are being breached with increasing frequency, indicating a lack of professionalism in the industry.

The post shed light on various issues faced by Abdul Hannan and his team, ranging from disputes between schools over reservations to people trying to influence contractual agreements. The artist expressed his frustration about cases where external pressures dictated their actions, such as terminating contracts with certain events. In addition, concerns about deadlines, accuracy and technical issues were cited as ongoing challenges.

Abdul Hannan emphasized that his team was consistently respectful, fair and consistent in their dealings. However, he expressed deep concern about the disrespect towards his team and the unfair demands placed on it. The warning underscored the seriousness of the matter, stressing the need for mutual respect and adherence to contractual obligations.

The musician supported the existence of a legal framework governing their professional engagements and pledged to assert their rights through legal means whenever necessary. “We will not hesitate to assert our rights and use legal recourse whenever necessary,” the singer wrote. The Instagram Story ended with a powerful statement, “Please don’t take musicians lightly.” Abdul Hannan urged a collective shift towards valuing professionalism, emphasizing the historical struggles musicians have faced due to lack of respect, poor work ethic and indiscipline.

He wrote, “I have love for everyone who has supported me and I am grateful for those who have invited me to play, but I cannot continue to let this happen. Musicians have suffered greatly in the past due to a lack of mutual respect, poor work ethic and lack of discipline. I take all of this very seriously and it’s time we start appreciating professionalism and taking some corrective action.”

This public speech by Abdul Hannan serves as a call for remedial measures in the music industry, emphasizing the importance of upholding contractual agreements, fostering a culture of professionalism and ensuring mutual respect between artists and event organizers.
