“Salah is a player you want in your league, in any league,” says Saudi Pro League official

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is not expected to play in the Riyadh Season Cup scheduled to be held in January 2024, despite several clubs showing interest in him.
According to the reports, the Egypt icon – who reached 200 goals at Liverpool – has been targeted by different teams in the region during the 2023 summer transfer window, with bids of around £150 million ($192 million) submitted.
However, no deal has been struck, with Salah tied down to Anfield until 2025. goal.com mentionted.
Another push is likely to come from the Saudi Pro League at some stage, with Salah’s former team-mates Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino already having followed Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema into an ambitious big-spending division.
However, there is little chance Salah will follow that path in early 2024.
“Mohamed Salah, like [Lionel] Messi, Benzema, Ronaldo and others like Kevin De Bruyne, these are players that, when there is a sense of availability for them, we are willing to listen to them,” Saudi Pro League director of football Michael Emenalo said. Sky Sports.
“But we also understand that Salah is happy where he is at the moment and at a historic, great club in Liverpool. We have a lot of respect for it and we don’t want to be seen as putting pressure on it. But if there’s any interest in doing something, Salah is a player you want in your league, in any league,” he said.
“We respect Liverpool and in this scenario, the initiative to do anything will not come from us. There must be an aligned interest from all parties involved. It’s a very personal thing, as a player I recruited [for Chelsea] and I like.
There’s nothing I’m saying that’s new or groundbreaking – that a player of this talent level is available and your league wants him. If Salah is available, he is interested in coming and everything is aligned, I would be incredibly happy.”
