Will announce the updated test team for the AUS AUS series

The West Indies have revealed a significantly updated test group for their upcoming series against Australia, marking the beginning of the ICC 2025-2027 World Test Championship.

Roston Chase, a recently appointed captain of the test and returns to the form for the first time since March 2023, will lead a youthful and restructured composition.

Specifically, the captain of the white ball Shai Hope makes a return to the test side, while ODI Deputy Brandon King has won his paternal test.

Veteran Pacer Kemar Roach has been omitted by the team, signaling a move towards building a new core.

The top class has been reinforced by the return of John Campbell opener and the accession of 24 -year -old Kevlon Anderson, who has been rewarded for his strong home form.

Anderson impressed in the West Indies Championship 2024/25, gathering 573 runs in 11 appearances with three centuries, ending third among the top tournament graduates.

“I am excited about the inclusion of the new perspective Kevlon Anderson, who comes after solid seasons to our domestic competitions to help provide stability in the top class, while the return of Shai Hope is welcomed given his consistency in White Ball Cricket,” said Daren Sammy.

“Brandon King’s inclusion fits into a role we have identified, which needs a special focus to transfer our team to those closer to the top of the rankings,” he added.

The bowling attack also has new faces. Twenty-one-year-old Johann Layne unites the team after claiming 63 wickets in 17 first-class matches.

Anderson Phillip, who was part of the team during Pakistani’s tour, won his position again after a five wicker Haul for Western Indies A against South Africa A.

“The start of the test championship cycle is crucial to building positive momentum as we try to work until the ranking. Starting from a strong appearance against a team such as Australia would be ideal in our efforts to bring the western Indies back to the wheel of the test.

“It was imperative to seek to put a team together that was well -equipped, both in the batting and bowling sections, to manage the chats and flows of this form of the game, while having the ability to put pressure on basic phases, through disciplined, intentional game.”

Several players who participated in the recent Pakistani test tour have lost, such as Joshua Da Silva, Alick Athanaze, Kavem Hodge, Amir Jangoo, Gudakesh Motie and Kevin Sinclair.

For the Unversed, the series of three -game tests will begin on June 25 in Barbados.
