Oleksandr USYK will defend the undisputed world heavyweight titles in a long -awaited rematch against Daniel Dubois in Britain at Wembley Stadium on Saturday July 19th.
The Ukrainian Star, who made the story, beating Tyson Fury to become the first unquestionable heavyweight champion in 25 years, will once again share the ring with Dubois, who has long sought redemption after his first period.
At their meeting in 2023, Dubois threw USYK with a fist that rules a low blow – a moment that still feeds the debate – before finally losing in nine rounds.
USYK, now the WBC, WBA and WBO title, was initially dedicated to a rematch with fury, leading to the clearing of the IBF zone.
Dubois, promoted by a temporary to a full champion, defended his title with a dramatic victory with Anthony Joshua at Wembley last September.
Although he was scheduled to defend Joseph Parker earlier this year, the disease forced Dubois to retire, setting the scene for this conflict.
“I am grateful to God for the opportunity to fight once again for the undisputed championship,” USYK said. “Thank you, Daniel, for taking care of my IBF belt – now I want it back.”
Dubois, meanwhile, was emphatic for his opportunity for redemption. “This is the struggle I wanted and asked for,” he said.
“I should have won the first match and refused by the referee’s decision. I am a superior and more dangerous fighter now and USYK will find it on July 19th.”
Supporter Frank Warren greeted the fight as a “historical occasion” and praised both fighters to agree on terms, promises an unforgettable night at the most virtual stage of the United Kingdom.
The mandatory defensive defenses for both USYK and Dubois had been violated to allow the indisputable title to be challenged, emphasizing the magnitude of this event.
Tickets and additional details of the race week will be announced soon as London is preparing for a summer showdown that could determine the heavyweight section.
