  • The CIA manager says we will work shoulder on the shoulder with Ukraine.
  • The National Security Advisor says we are taking a step back.
  • “Administration review aspects of the relationship with Ukraine.”

The United States has stopped exchange of information with Kiev, CIA Director John Ratcliffe said on Wednesday, in a move that could seriously block Ukraine’s ability to target Russian forces.

The decision to cut information and military aid in Ukraine strongly depicts Trump’s willingness to play hard balls with an ally to force it on the negotiating table.

US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that it received a letter from Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, in which Ukraine leader expressed the willingness to come to the table of negotiations on the Russian-Ukraine war.

“I think on the military front and in the front of intelligence, the pause [that prompted Ukraine’s president to respond] I think it will go away, “Ratcliffe told Fox Business Network.

“I think we will work the shoulder on the shoulder with Ukraine, as we have to promote the aggression that exists, but put the world in a better place to move on to these peace negotiations,” he said.

Three sources familiar with the situation also confirmed that the exchange of US information had stopped. It was not immediately clear to what extent the US had reduced the sharing.

One of the sources said that the distribution of information was only “partially”, but could not provide more details.

Since the start of the war in 2022, the US has provided Ukraine important information, including critical information on military needs for targeting purposes.

US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz told reporters on Wednesday morning that the US “had taken a step back” and that the administration “re -examining all aspects” of its information relationship with Ukraine.

Waltz also said the US was actively involved in talks with Ukraine to move negotiations on a mineral agreement and a possible peace deal with Russia. “I think we’ll see move in a very short class,” he said.
