- The Americans keep noisy protest over the hotel outside the Ice Agents.
- The protest “No Sleep for Ice” aims to disrupt ice cream sleep.
- Critics denounce federal immigration to wear face masks.
After the night, it fell on the outskirts of Los Angeles on Thursday, about 50 people steal metal pots and threw horns outside a hotel in a noisy protest for sleep targeting American immigration.
The “No Sleep For Ice” race underlined the increase in anger in immigration and ICE, a once dark service that has become the focus of President Donald Trump’s immigration repression.
“They terrorize our community all day long. Why do they get a good sleep?” said Nathanael Landaverde, 23, who struck a separated pan in the protest.
Dramatic images have shown federal agents, often covered and sometimes armed with attack rifles, chasing immigrants and handmade in courts, farms and on the streets.
Ice officials have also kept some US citizens for alleged interference with arrests, including a candidate for Mayor in New York this week.
The heavy hand approach has caused fear among immigrants and angered many Americans, especially in liberal cities such as Los Angeles, where large -scale protests broke out this month above the invasions of ice.
“If they don’t sleep they are not going to do their job effectively, they will get fewer people,” Landaverde added, as vehicles passing with the obvious support for the late night rally.
It was not certain if the Ice agents stayed at the three -star hotel, but the protest organizers claimed to have photographs.
Dozens of people danced in a deafening cacophony as they ran signs that read “without ice” and “ice from Los Angeles” to the hotel, where some visitors were looking through the curtains.
A woman just shouted at a megaphone. Another man was wearing headphones as he threw a deformed white noise through a speaker.
“They remove families and it is scary to watch in my community. They can’t sleep if they will do it here,” said Juliet Austin, 22, who was playing a small blue accordion.
‘Secret Police’
Trump was elected to a second term for his promise to displace thousands of immigrants.
However, along with their offensive tactics, critics have reported federal immigration agents to wear face masks to hide their identity – an extremely unusual but legal practice on American law enforcement.
“Where will we find ourselves as a nation with a secret police?” Walter Olson, a senior partner at The Cato Institute Think Tank, wrote last month.
“For Trump’s administration, the conversion of raids into a standard practice fits into a wider attempt to avoid accountability for potentially illegal and unconstitutional actions,” he added.
In California, legislators have introduced “No Secret Police Act” that would limit federal agents to wear masks.
Federal officials rejected this criticism by arguing that agents are wearing masks to protect them from possible retaliation.
Meanwhile, Ice has often boasted about his activities and has published photos of prisoners of immigrants in social media.
And he still enjoys the support of Trump, who praised the incredible power, determination and courage of agents’ agents last weekend.
Still, anger above the ice seems unlikely to be removed as the immigration arrests continue and the protesters on Thursday were unstoppable that they would not retreat.
“I think it’s a modern gestapo here in America,” said Austin, a dance teacher.
“This city is not the one to lose … We will not let it happen. We are not tired,” he added.
