US President Donald Trump’s administration said it would deploy 2,000 National Guard troops on Saturday, as Federal Agents in Los Angeles faced a few hundred protesters during a second day of protest after raids.
Defense Minister Pete Hegseth warned that the Pentagon was willing to mobilize the troops of the active service “if violence continues” in Los Angeles, saying that the Marines in nearby Camp Pendleton were “in high warning”.
Federal security agents on Saturday faced protesters in the Paramount area of Southeast Los Angeles, where some protesters showed Mexican flags. A second protest in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday night attracted about 60 people who chant slogans, including “Ice Ou La!”
Trump signed a presidential memorandum to develop the troops of the National Guard to “face the lawlessness that has been allowed to fly,” the White House said in a statement. Trump’s Czar, Tom Homan, told Fox News that the National Guard would settle in Los Angeles on Saturday.
California Governor Gavin Newsom called on the decision “deliberately inflammatory”. He published in X that Trump is developing the National Guard “not because there is a lack of law enforcement, but because they want a spectacle,” adding: “Never give them, never use violence.
Newsom said it was “disturbed behavior” for Hegseth “threatening to develop active seafarers in US territory against his own citizens”.
Trump published on the social platform of truth that if the mayor of Los Angeles and Mayor Karen Bass cannot do their jobs “then the federal government will enter and solve the problem, the riots and the villains, the way it must be solved!”
The protests of Democratic Los Angeles, where the census elements indicate a significant part of the population are Spanish and foreign, against the Republican White House of Trump, which has destroyed immigration a feature of its second term.
Violent uprising
“Explorers who carry foreign flags attack immigration officers, while half of America’s political leadership has decided that border is bad,” Vice President JD Vance published on X late on Saturday.
White House Senior Stephen Miller, a hard -core immigration, described protests as a “violent uprising”.
The administration has not relying on the law on revolt, two US officials told Reuters provided anonymity. Someone said that the troops of the National Guard can grow quickly, within 24 hours in some cases, and that the army was working to supply the 2,000 troops.
The law of 1807 authorizes a president to develop the US Army for law enforcement and to suppress events such as political disorder. The last time he cited was during the 1992 Los Angeles riots at the request of the California governor.
Paramount protest videos showed dozens of green safety staff with gas masks at the Paramount protest, lined up on a road turning with subversive trolleys, as small containers exploded to gas clouds. Authorities began holding some protesters, according to Reuters’ witnesses.

Reuters was unable to verify the DHS account. Angelica Salas, chief executive of the Chirla immigrant rights organization, said lawyers did not have access to those held on Friday, which she called “very worrying”.
The suppression of Trump’s immigration
Trump is committed to releasing illegal records of people in the country and locking US -Mexico border, with the White House aiming to capture at least 3,000 immigrants a day.
But the sweeping repression of immigration has also attracted the people who have legally lived in the country, including some permanent home, and have led to legal challenges.
Ice, the Internal Security Department and the Los Angeles Police Department did not respond to comments for protests or if there were immigration raids on Saturday.
The news material on Friday showed unmarked vehicles that resemble military transport and trucks loaded with federal federal agents flowing through the Los Angeles roads as part of the immigration enforcement operation.
The raids occurred around Home Depot stores, where street vendors and day workers took, as well as at a clothing factory and a warehouse, Salas of Chirla said.
Bass, the mayor of Los Angeles, condemned the raids of immigration.
“I am deeply angry by what has been done,” Bass said in a statement. “These tactics are pushing terror to our communities and disturb the basic principles of security in our city. We will not support this.”
