Three people were killed and one injured after a small aircraft crashed on tripartite trails near the i-95 in Boca Raton, Florida on Friday morning. The crash happened around 10:20 am, shortly after the departure of Boca Raton Airport on the road to Tallahassee International Airport, according to FAA.
Fire leader Michael Lasalle confirmed that all three people on the aircraft died in the crash. A person on the ground was hospitalized with life -threatening injuries, possibly after driving through the resulting fire.
The FAA and the National Transport Security Council (NTSB) began an investigation into the cause of the conflict.
After the incident, Boca Raton police closed the North Military Trail between Northwest 19th Street and Butts Road. The I-95 Overpass on Glades Road closes in both directions and authorities are urging the public to avoid the area. Police said road closures could last for a long time.
The helicopter material showed that the debris was scattered on the Tri-Ril routes, with emergency crews and the fire retardant visible at the crash. A burned vehicle was also found near a tree, although it remains unconfirmed if it is associated with the injured person.
The Trri-Rail service has been suspended in the area. A bus bridge is arranged between Deerfield Beach and Boca Raton stations to help confirmation.
Air Force expert Willard Shepard said a witness saw the plane shortly after taking off and noted that he appeared to be in danger, possibly trying to return to the airport before he was crushed. Researchers will examine all factors, including mechanical issues and flight routes.
Said a nearby office employee New CBS He saw the plane fly abnormally low before he disappeared under Treeeline. “There was a strong explosion, the windows shook, and then a cloud of tobacco and fire,” he recalled. Others said the impact felt like an earthquake, shaking the nearby buildings.
Research remains ongoing.
