Ira Khan, daughter of Aamir Khan, and fitness coach Nupur Shikhare exchanged vows in a registered marriage on January 3 in Mumbai, Indian media reported.

The ceremony featured a unique twist as Nupur arrived at the venue in an unconventional attire – a casual waistcoat paired with shorts. The groom’s outfit when he signed his marriage papers caused an uproar on social media. Now, we finally know why Nupur wore what could be touted as possibly the most casual outfit ever worn by a groom to his wedding.

The distinct selection was attributed to Nupur’s dedication to fitness. he chose to jog about 8 km to the wedding venue before tying the knot with Ira. However, according to the Times of India, Nupur paid tribute to his love story with Ira while wearing athleisure. According to the report, Nupur had proposed to Ira in 2022 after completing the Ironman Triathlon in Italy. He was dressed in sportswear at the time and looked like he wanted to wear a similar outfit for his big day.

The couple chose an intimate setting for their wedding, announcing their wedding surrounded by close friends and family. A video shared on social media captured the heartfelt moment, depicting Ira in a glamorous traditional ensemble paired with dhoti pants and a net dupatta gracefully draped over her head.

On the other hand, Nupur opted for an elegant blue bandhgala. The touching presence of Aamir and Reena, looking adoringly at the newlyweds, added a touching family touch to the ceremony.

Kiran Rao, Aamir’s ex-wife, joined the celebration and was present on stage as the couple signed the marriage registration papers, emphasizing the harmonious blending of the extended family. Aamir, in a cream servani and a pink turban, exuded fatherly pride during the momentous occasion. The family, including Aamir’s sons Junaid Khan and Azad, posed together for photographs, creating lasting memories.
