Taif, a picturesque valley known for its fertile gardens and its mountainous territory in Saudi Arabia, located about 40 miles from Makkah, holds a special place in Islamic history.

The city is known as the place where the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) suffered difficulties, while at the same time giving the message of Islam. Despite the treatment of persecutions by local tribes, he showed remarkable patience and mercy with prayer for people instead of seeking punishment.

Among the remarkable historical sites of Taif is Masjid Abbas, near the position of the old wall of Taif, where the Prophet (PBUH) was injured by a mob of young men after the Arab captain’s invitation to Islam.

When Angel Jibreel (AS) asked for permission to crush the city between the mountains, the Prophet (PBUH) refused and prayed for his people. Today, the site has become a busy market with picturesque corridors, restaurants and entertainment facilities.

Tourists can explore traditional Arab culture, including ancient household practices, in a modern environment that maintains the heritage of the city.

TAIF also plays a vital role in the agricultural sector of Saudi Arabia. One of its main attractions is the famous Al-Quraish Rose factory, founded by the Quraish race.

The owner of the Mohannad al-Quraishi factory revealed that his father, Rashid al-Quraishi, began cultivating flowers in 1989 and created the factory in 1996.

Initially, the factory exported a rose substance using traditional methods, produces fragrances, creams and lotions exclusively for the royal family and as government gifts.

However, according to the vision of Prince Mohammed Bin Salman 2030, the spokesman for the Saudi Tourism Authority Dr. Imad Kashmiri confirmed that the products of the factory will be marketed with financial and technical support, including the installation of a new production plant.

During the winter, Taif’s beauty reaches its climax, attracting visitors to the lush mountains, restaurants, cafes and entertainment areas.

With rich history, stunning landscapes, recreational activities and Al-Quraish Rose, Taif remains an important draw for tourists who explore Saudi Arabia’s cultural and natural heritage.
