The goal Salah seeks to change as part of the Egypt Eye Eye World Cup

The goal Salah seeks to change as part of the Egypt Eye Eye World Cup

Johannesburg:

Mohamed Salah wants to put a frustrating start of his season with Liverpool behind him on Wednesday and help Egypt defeat Djibouti and qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

A victory for the record seven times African champions over one of the lowest teams in Epirus will give them a non -available lead in second place Burkina Faso in Group A with a match to exchange.

A twice African footballer of the year, Salah lost his spark with the Premier League champions, scoring just three goals in nine appearances in all matches this season.

Last season, the 33 -year -old won 29 times in 38 championship matches to win the Golden Boot award as Liverpool climbed a 20th Premier League title.

Salah has memories to play against Djibouti, scoring four goals in a 6-0 Cairo ROMP in the opening round of the World Cup two years ago.

Djibouti does not help that they do not have an approved FIFA stage, so the “home” match against Egypt will be organized in the Moroccan Casablanca commercial capital.

Three subsequent targets got Salah in seven in the qualifying campaign, one less than Gabon’s Denis Bouanga chart with two rounds remaining.

Egyptian colleague Mostafa Mohamed, who plays for the French Ligue 1 Nantes uniform, is not worried about Salah, telling reporters that the lack of goals is “a temporary failure”.

“Mo is a big star and we are lucky to have him in our team. He is the best player in Egypt’s history,” he told FIFA.

“It’s amazing. For me, he has a great personality. I love him very much. He’s a wonderful player,” added Mohamed, who also scored against Djibouti.

Egyptian coach Hossam Hassan has an embarrassment of wealth attack, in addition to Salah and Mohamed, he can call Omar Marmoush, Mahmoud ‘Trezeguet’ Hassan and Ahmed ‘Zizo’ Sayed.

Since the Djibouti has lost seven out of eight qualifiers and is 158 seats below Egypt in the FIFA ranking, it would be a shock if they prevent the Pharaohs who sealed a fourth appearance of the World Cup.

– Algeria that will meet the conditions –

Algeria and Cape Verde are the other two countries that can turn positions in the World Cup with nine wins of the day and already participate in Morocco and Tunisia in North and Central America next year.

Senegal, reigning African Council champions and Ghana, could also get unquestionable drivers, but must win and hope that other results of their teams favor them.

Group C, where Benin leads South Africa to the goal difference and Nigeria and Rwanda are three points behind, is one section where a qualifying cannot emerge before the final round, starting on Sunday.

Like Egypt, Algeria can qualify if they provide maximum points against a much lower opponent. The foxes of the desert have the additional advantage of playing a G team match with Somalia at home.

Security concerns prevent Somalia’s struggles at Mogadishu and a 163 -seat ranking behind Algeria proves the difficult challenge facing ocean stars in ORAN on Thursday.

Algerian coach Vladimir Pekovic first called Luca Zidane, a 27 -year -old goalkeeper with the Granada second -tier Spanish Club and son of French Great Zinedine Zidane.

Luca, who meet the conditions for Algeria because his grandparents were born, has changed international obedience after representing France at youth level.

Algeria is seeking a fifth appearance at the world showpiece, while Cape Verde hopes to qualify for the first time. They face Libya in Tripoli on Wednesday.

A former Portuguese colony, Cape Verde, is a group of islands from the west coast with about 550,000 inhabitants. The qualifications would make them the African country with the smallest population doing so.

Even if Cape Verdeans fails in Libya, they will have a second chance on Monday to collect three points needed to finish over Cameroon when hosting Bottom Team Eswatini in Group D.

Ghana will win Group I on Wednesday if it defeats the Central African Republic and Madagascar do not collect maximum points against the comoros.

Senegal can qualify for Group B if he wins in South Sudan on Friday and the Congo People’s Republic fails to win in Togo.

The Ctlie Coast, which was recently presented in a 2014 World Cup, would come back if they won away in Seychelles and Gabon is losing to Gambia.

The failure to win a team does not write the end of the road, however. The four best runners-up enter the African Play-Off in November, from which the winners go to the Intercontinental Play-Offs in March.
