BRUSSELS:

Import invoices act as a tax and will discourage people from buying goods from foreign suppliers. People work and invest mainly to earn income for the purchase of goods and services produced by others. In the same way, people in an export country and services to win the means to buy imports from other countries.

If duties, you reduce the demand for imports, which, in turn, reduce the need for revenue from export sale and thus reduce exports. As a result, invoices reduce both imports and exports and in static terms create jobs in ineffective domestic industries to replace the loss of effective foreign imports, losing jobs in effective domestic industries previously exported.

The relationship between exports and imports between countries is no different from the relationship between income and expenditure between individuals. Income is earned by the production of goods, which are sold for the purchase of goods that produce others. Imports of a country equal to its exports without capital flows. Invoices do not change the net exports of a country or what is called commercial balance.

In order to understand the trade balance, it is necessary to recognize the close relationship between the surplus of capital of a country (eg inputs of capital) and the commercial deficit. A surplus of capital is the difference between what a country invests and what it saves, while the trade deficit is the difference between what a country is spending and what it produces. In essence, the surplus of a country’s capital reflects its commercial deficit. If imports and exports move to Lockstep, their difference (ie the trade balance) will not change.

Invoices also do not increase total prices simply because the increase in domestic import prices (products and effectively produced abroad) is offset by the fall of domestic prices of previously exported products (more effectively produced in the domestic market). The introduction of a country and its export is as tightly a correlation as it could imagine. The lesson to be taken from this is that commerce protection measures are destroying trade profits by reducing total trade (exports plus imports) that hurt importers, exporters, consumers and producers. It also hurts economic growth.

Invoices cost jobs and reduce productivity as a result of a loss of comparative advantage obtained by trade. Also, the collapse in total trade as a result of invoices leads to deficiencies of domestic tax revenue and urges domestic governments to increase tax rates everywhere. This perverted government is anti-development, leading to a vicious circle of a downward race.

Invoices also lead to further job losses due to the atavistic prompts of foreign governments to enter a trade war. The corresponding increase in duties to increase duties is precisely the wrong thing to do, but governments are doing exactly that. The end result of the trade war, in addition to the collapse of the market, is the magnificent reduction in trade for both imports and exports and very little change in the trade balance.

Apart from everything else, invoices will not increase much, if any, net revenue for the government. Increased invoice will reduce total trade from taxes. This point was a central doctrine of Adam Smith in his book: the wealth of the nations.

People work and invest to buy goods and the higher the quality of these goods and reduce the price, the better employees and investors they are. The protection of industry from foreign competition, imposing invoices, comes to the detriment of everyone. Consumers, producers and economic growth benefit on average by free trade.

The winners of free trade exceed the losers. The benefit of commercial accounts to all – importers, exporters, consumers and producers of all commercial nations. The benefit of trade is best measured as total trade – exports minus imports.

When they see invoices in the big plan of things, they represent government intervention in the market. Invoices are the opposition of the free market economy. The one issue that goes beyond the point is that no matter what the problem it may be, government intervention is definitely not the solution!
