FBR Collects Over Rs13 Trillion in FY26 — First Time Ever — as IMF Now Pushes Rs15.6 Trillion Target for FY27

Pakistan's Federal Board of Revenue collected over Rs13 trillion in fiscal year 2025-26, exceeding its revised target of Rs12.983 trillion by more than Rs21 billion in what officials described as a historic first. Stronger-than-expected income tax receipts drove the outperformance. The IMF is now pushing an Rs15.6 trillion target for FY2026-27 — approximately 20% above FY26 collections — while the FBR has indicated it cannot realistically collect more than Rs15 trillion.
