The government has cut petrol by Rs3.39 to Rs328.56 a litre and high-speed diesel by Rs4.07 to Rs385.86, the second consecutive reduction. Petrol has now fallen almost Rs7.50 from its peak as crude stays soft on the prospect of US-Iran talks.

The government has cut petrol by Rs4.08 to Rs331.95 a litre and high-speed diesel by Rs2.45 to Rs389.93, with kerosene at Rs301.64. The reduction follows a near 5 per cent fall in crude after President Trump announced fresh negotiations with Iran.

The KSE-100 rose as much as 2,891.83 points, or 1.64 per cent, to an intraday high of 178,985.94 as oil fell nearly 5 per cent on hopes of fresh US-Iran talks. OPEC+ separately raised September output by 188,000 barrels per day.
