OGRA Raises RLNG Prices Up to 16% for June as Emergency Spot Purchases Push Gas Costs to 73% Above February Levels

Pakistan's Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has notified a 14.85–16.17% increase in Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas prices for June, reflecting the higher cost of emergency spot cargoes purchased after supply disruptions during the Gulf conflict. RLNG now costs approximately 73% more than it did in February — a price pass-through that will hit industrial consumers, power plants, and household bills in the coming billing cycle.

The cabinet proposes uniform gas prices

Listen to the article Islamabad: Cabinet members urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to introduce uniform gas prices in a bid to eliminate alleged favouritism, which benefited some manufacturers. Currently, different gas prices are charged by urea manufacturers. Some pay lower tariffs while some others are asked to pay higher prices. However, all manufacturers receive the same prices for supplying fertilizer to farmers, indicating that companies that pay lower gas tariffs make more profit. During a recent cabinet meeting, one member insisted that all fertilizer manufacturers should be supplied with gas at a single price and there should be no favouritism.
