SLB ‘obsessed’ with tawaifs, not ordinary middle class women

If anyone in Bollywood is the very antonym of ‘shy and withdrawn wallflower’, it would be Indian cinema mogul Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Even those who managed to stay away from Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar will know this is a series with a growing budget without being afraid to say something. The point, in his case Heeramandi, is that Bhansali has little interest in so-called ordinary women. Instead, it turns to portraying the lives of those other women society shuns
