Prime Minister removes Aurangzeb from ECNEC chairmanship

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday removed Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb from the chairmanship of another important body responsible for economic decision-making, called the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec). The Prime Minister himself retained the chairmanship of Ecnec after attempts to appoint Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to head the commission. However, Dar was listed as a member of Ecnec. The Cabinet has announced the composition of Ecnec – a committee of the National Economic Council (NEC), which is mandated to take decisions on economic and development plans. Aisam wins the election for the chairmanship of the Fed of Pakistan

KARACHI: Tennis ace Aisamul Haq Qureshi has become the first active player to assume the office of President as he eyes the revival of the sport in Pakistan. He is now the elected chief of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), replacing outgoing president politician Salim Saifullah.Aisam’s term will be for four years until 2028.
