Israel bombards northern and southern Gaza, many reported dead

CAIRO/GAZA: Palestinian health officials also said Israeli strikes in northern Gaza City hit the headquarters of the YMCA, which hosts hundreds of displaced people, and reported several dead and wounded. The official WAFA news agency reported that at least three dozen people were killed in raids on three houses in the Jabalia refugee camp, which health officials could not confirm. Gaza’s health ministry said Israel’s ground offensive and targeting of medical facilities had made it difficult to gather information on casualties in northern Gaza. Rescue workers believed that some victims remained buried under the rubble in some of these areas.

GAUZE: Israel ordered Palestinians to leave parts of the main southern city in the Gaza Strip on Monday, even as its bombs rained down on areas it had told them to go.
