Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday appointed Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar as deputy chairman of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec), further strengthening the four-time finance minister’s position in economic affairs. Just two weeks after Ecnec was formed, Prime Minister Sharif elevated Dar, who is also deputy prime minister, to the post of deputy chairman. Earlier, Dar was only a member of Ecnec.
